Happy new year!

Welcome back Class 2.

Today we have had such a busy day. It has gone so fast. It was lovely to see the children dressed so smartly in their uniforms, lots with new shoes and hair cuts. We have been busy working this afternoon on our new topic, which is Space. In geography, children used maps and atlases to find countries that have travelled into space. They had to colour the countires in on their own world maps!  It was good fun, but hard work.

  1. I love finding out about space, it is such an interesting thing to learn about. I would love to be able to go into space and experience weighlessness – and to see the Earth from so far up!

  2. Hello Class 2,

Your topic is Space? That is one of my interests, although I must admit I have many interests. Some astronomers have said there are more stars in our great universe than there are grains of sand on every beach in the world. If we just look at one sandy beach and see all of those small sand grains, we can see there are way too many for us to easily count.

What an incredibly big universe we have yet, so far, people have only set foot on our own moon. There is so much to learn and so many beautiful things to see in the future. Did you know right at this moment the Curiosity Rover is exploring the surface of the second closest planet to our Earth, Mars?

I hope you can share some of the things you learn in your new school year.
